The grit separator is a machine suitable for separation of sand and sediment present in the sewage drain.
The sewage enters the settling tank, the sand and solids are deposited on the bottom where a screw pushes them up on the outlet. In the upper part of the settling tank, the liquid free of sand, is downloaded from the machinery through a weir. The motion is impressed to the screw by a gearmotor.
The box where the screw works is covered with interchangeable plates of sliding. The tank, solidly constructed, has been designed for different uses, the support columns are mounted at a safe distance from the point of discharge to allow the placement is bins, conveyors, etc.. Everything is made of stainless steel AISI 304, every machine is checked and certified in accordance to 2006/42/CE Machinery Directive. The ramp can be provided with nozzles to wash the sand from any further biodegradable materials.
